How to Store Your Private Key
- Do not, under any circumstance, store your private key on an email or share it via email even with another account you own. Keep it somewhere safe and offline.
- On the same note: Do not, under any circumstance, store your private key on a Cloud server. They are just as susceptible to hacking as a regular email address.
- A cost-effective and practical solution is to store it on a dedicated USB flash drive that only you know of. External hard drives are also an option, but the more modest and discreet the storage unit, the better.
- If for whatever reason you want to keep it locally on your machine’s file system, please ensure you save it in an encrypted folder, preferably one that’s hidden from the file system view.
